Portraits = Cherished Memories to Keep
Creating portraits of people--families, children, teens, babies, and adults, as well as their beloved animals, is a wonderful experience. Then best of all, is hearing from "my" families how much their portraits mean to them! When you cannot have your loved ones physically close to you, the next best thing can be a portrait of them you love that truly captures their personalities. Over and over, one can read stories about how people had to evacuate their homes and chose to save the family portraits over the other things they owned.

Portraits Enrich Our Lives
They help us remember and cherish those people and animals we love so much. They can remind us of who we were at that point in time. My dad was a serious amateur photographer, who later in life became a professional. As a result, my family was lucky enough to have many fine photographs documenting our lives. Many years ago while in college, I took my first photography class and fell in love with it. My dad gave me cameras to use, and I spent many weekends in his darkroom, barely coming out for supper. I definitely inherited the gene for loving this craft, this art. I still have, and on occasion use, his old Mamiya C330 and Leica M4 (film) cameras.
My background includes a BA in Art, AS in Graphic Design, and many years of photography classes, seminars, and workshops taught by extremely talented individuals. My mentors and teachers include: (the late and great) Monte Zucker, Alan Lowy, Jeff Stokes-DuBose, Charles Lewis, Steve Nissle, Ty Bass, Craig Kienst, Steve Thornton, Craig Marple, John Aikman, and of course, my dad, Gene Holtke.

The Studio
My studio is located in Goldfield Ranch, just east of Fountain Hills (which is just east of Phoenix), Arizona, in a beautiful desert setting, adjacent to Tonto National Forest. I have horses that can be used in the portraits if you want a Western outdoor look. We can also hike out into the desert among the majestic saguaro cacti, or capture the landmark Four Peaks in the background.
The indoor part of the studio is a great place for portraits of individuals and small groups. We can get very creative with lighting and posing, having a lot of fun, too!

Your Photography Session--What to Expect
Your portraits should reflect character and personality unique to each individual. When you first call, we will just chat about what it is you want from your photographs and where you plan to display them. If we decide to work together, you will be asked to reserve a session time, and to secure your time with a creation fee. This will cover the time it takes to plan, photograph, and process your images. Purchase of the actual images is separate, and there are many options available.
Next, we hold an in-person consultation, either at your home, our chosen location, or the studio. We will choose the perfect locations for your portraits and the best time of day. You will be advised as to what to wear as individuals, and as a group. It is important that I meet the children, and if possible, all of the other family members beforehand. This will help them relax and to reveal their true personalities during the photography session.
Photography Day!!! You will be surprised how much fun we can have as we go into action! The session time will vary depending on the number of people and/or animals involved, but I will try to give you an estimation beforehand. I limit my sessions to no more than 2 per day, and only a few per week so that I may stay refreshed and creative, giving each family my full attention.
My 100% Guarantee: you will love your photographs, or I will either refund every penny of your money, or hold another session at no extra charge.
Call for a no cost, no obligation chat with absolutely no pressure: 480-595-8188, or e-mail sara@goodnickphotography.com

Pricing
Because there are so many variables to consider, please call me about prices for your photographic session. There are sessions for families, individuals, business portraits, pets, and horses, which can either be on location or here at the studio, so it is best to answer your questions in "live time".
The time from actual photography session to finished print is usually two to three weeks. Framing will add another two to three weeks, so please plan ahead.
Please call 480-595-8188, and we can chat about what it will take to create portraits you will love. Or e-mail me at sara@goodnickphotography.com.
My guarantee: You will be thrilled with your photographs, not just satisfied, or I will either reshoot at no extra cost, or I will refund every penny. I want you to be happy!
